Mr Friend has extensive finance and oil and gas commercialisation experience. He is currently commercial and finance director of gas to liquids developer, ASA Energy Conversions Limited. He was previously director, chief financial officer and executive vice president of Orca Exploration Group Inc, a TSXV company that developed the Songo Songo gas field in Tanzania. Prior to this he worked with Peter Clutterbuck at Gabon-focused Pan-Ocean Energy. Until 2001, he was a director at Enron Europe, where he invested capital in independent energy companies. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant who trained at KPMG where he managed a department that specialised in due diligence work, IPOs, acquisitions and disposals. He has a BA in Industrial Economics from Nottingham University.
